UC Davis partners with Singapore to launch lighting technology center

September 17, 2013

The University of California, Davis, is collaborating with the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) and Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) to develop a lighting efficiency demonstration and training center in Singapore.

The new lighting demonstration and training center will help reduce energy demand for lighting by promoting awareness of best practices and energy-efficient lighting design principles.

“Singapore has been a leader in the energy efficiency arena,” says UC Davis Professor and CLTC Director Michael Siminovitch. “This close collaboration will help build new ideas and advance best practices for efficient lighting. It will bring together different perspectives and ideas while helping bridge barriers to sustainable lighting design, and it will be mutually beneficial in addressing our carbon reduction goals.”
